10:30 a.m. Band Call time
Equipment Truck Loading

11:15 a.m. Students in Block for Inspection
Band wearing black show shirt, white practice shirt, blue practice shorts, black socks and band shoes only (No flip-flops, sneakers, sandals)
(if not dressed in these clothes, then they will wear under armor and bibbers)
Everyone is encouraged to bring a jacket or sweatshirt as it will be chilly after we perform.
Preferably a band jacket or sweatshirt; or from a Freedom sport or club; or one that is red, white or blue
Jacket or sweatshirt must meet OPCS dress code.

11:30 p.m. Load buses
Count and verify students on each bus

12:00 p.m. Arrive at the Citrus Bowl
Leave uniforms, shakos and instruments on semi.
Students may have a small purse or back pack for personal items.
No hats, visors, bandanas, headbands, etc. Sunglasses are ok.
Walk across field and then move into bleachers to "Reserve" our seats
Set-up in our seating block
Chaperones set-up a "Perimeter" for our seating block

12:15 -2:15 p.m. Students may visit the restroom and Our Concession Stand in groups of 3 or more
Lunch (on your own) at the Our Concession Stand or you may bring a lunch from home
Students dressed in show shirts & shorts may eat whatever they choose.
Students in bibbers are restricted to plain hotdog, plain hamburger and clear soda. No chips, candy, etc. Students in bibbers with a lunch from home, no jelly or condiments

1:30 p.m. Guard Call Time
2:00 p.m. Bus leaves for Citrus Bowl

2:30 p.m. Everyone in seating block for National Anthem

2:45 p.m.- 4:30 p.m. Students may visit the restroom and Stadium Concession Stand in groups of 3 or more
Remain seated while groups are performing. Only move from the stands in between groups.
Students dressed in show shirts & shorts may eat whatever they choose.
Students in bibbers are restricted to plain hotdog, plain hamburger and clear soda. No chips, candy, etc.
Remember do not say anything negative about other bands while in the stands or walking
around. You never know who is listening.

4:30 p.m. Equipment Dads begin unloading the truck
Students and Chaperones in seating block for Jones performance

4:45 p.m. Students to buses to dress and get instruments
Students to leave personal items on the bus
Mrs. Sherwood & Ms. Willoughby stay in Seating Block to reserve our space


5:15 p.m. Warm-up – Band follow Mr. Perez, Guard follow Ms. Brown and Drumline follow Mr. Rogers & Mr. Adams. Percussion Pit to remain with the equipment near the truck with Mr. Price.
Ms. Fierro to chaperone the Guard to warm-up
Ms. Chaturgan and Ms. Kervitsky chaperone the Band to warm-up and to plume
Ms. Donald and Ms. Beckman to tape drumline and others
All others to distribute water cups to all areas during warm-up (Once water is distributed, please return to the Seating Block to enjoy the show.)

6:00 p.m. Leave warm-up to go to the Stadium

Friday, 10/26/07:
11:00 a.m. Picture on risers in front of Band Room
12:00 p.m. Mandatory Rehearsal at FHS
5:00 p.m. Load Semi with all equipment and uniforms
Load Semi with two, large green coolers full of ice water. These can be moved on the green carts.
Load Semi with large white cooler full of Gatorade for pre-pay lunch.
Load Semi with 6-gallon cooler with ice water
6:00 p.m. Rehearsal ends

Saturday, 10/27/07:
6:30 a.m. Call time
Bus signs taped in window
Load plumes on bus
Load medical bag on bus
Load sandwiches, chips and granola bars on semi or bus

6:45 a.m. Students in Block for Inspection
Color Guard wearing Red/Blue during the day and Gray/Blue if chilly later.

Everyone is encouraged to bring a jacket or sweatshirt as it may be chilly.

Watch Winter Park and FIU performances

5:30 p.m. Dinner (on your own) at the Concession Stand or you may bring a dinner from home

6:00 p.m. Finals Begin – (Hopefully Freedom will be included)
If Freedom is in the finals, we will repeat everything including unloading the truck, dressing, warm-up, performance and reloading the truck and participation in a retreat.

If Freedom is not in the finals, we will stay and watch most of the finals and leave about 8:00 p.m.

When we leave: Load buses for return to Freedom
Count and verify students on each bus

2 hrs later: Arrive at Freedom
Unload buses and equipment truck

Senior Night, Concert Attire & St. Augustine
Concert Attire - It has been a while since we did fittings for our concert attire. A reminder that all ladies will be wearing matching dresses and the men will be wearing tuxedos. We are asking that the ladies bring in $75 with in the next few weeks to pay for the dresses. We have the size information and the order will need to go in next week. For the men who have not paid for your tuxedo, your order is ready to be picked up at Afterhours in the Florida Mall. The cost of the pants, jacket, shoes, shirt, cummerbund, and tie is $160. If you do not need all of the items, it will cost less. We have our Fall Concert in three weeks and we need to this taken care of.

All-County Audition - On Monday we will have the OCPS All-County audition info on the Charms website for downloading. The auditions are on November 12. The All-County student contract and fee may be turned in to Mr. Perez. Students interested in auditioning should be working on the Technical exercise of the All State audition as well as the 12 major scales, chromatic scale and continue developing their sightreading skills.

Fees - Majority of the students have paid their $50 Competition 1 fee, but only a little more that half of our band have paid the $50 Competition 2 fee. Please check your Finance Accounts on Charms to make sure you are up to date with your payments. If you have excess $ in your account, you can email Mr. Perez to have money transfered from your student trust.

Tuesday Rehearsal - We will rehearse from 5-8:30pm and continue refining the and developing the visiual aspects of the show. This will be another short week and we need to retain what is learned for our Thursday performance.

Senior Night - The forms handed out by Mrs. Greene on last Tuesday's reheasal must be turned in to Ms. Wolbert in room 402 or 408 by Tuesday, October 23rd. This includes the Parent Attendance letter, and a speil sheet of your personal info to be announced at the Ceremony. Please contact Mr. Perez if you have questions or if you need another form.


Thursday (Game Day)
Senior night football game vs. Boone at FHS
This is a busy night! We will be celebrating with our 12th grade students.
Schedule:
4:45 PM- Call time for attendance and warm-up.
5:00 PM- Runthrough of the show and review of pre-game
5:20 PM- Pit equipment roll down to stadium/dress/pre-order food.
6:10 PM- leave for stadium
6:35 PM- Senior Night Ceremony at Stadium
7:10 PM- set for pregame
7:15 PM- Pregame show
7:30 PM- Kickoff
1st quarter- play in the stands
2nd quarter- band warms-up
Halftime- circa 8:30 PM- Boone Band performs then FHS band
3rd quarter- hang out socialize with Boone Band
4th quarter- play in stands
Postgame- alma mater
10:30 PM- march back from stadium
11:00 PM- Dismissed

Friday Reheasal - We will meet at 11:00am to dress in our uniforms for our Family Band Picture. This will be done using the choral risers in front of the band room. From 12-6 we will rehearse in preparation for our competition performance at St. Augustine. A schedule of the day will follow later in the week.

Saturday (St. Augustine Competition Day) - We will meet at Freedom at 6:30am to load on the busses to make the 2 1/2 hour drive to St. Augustine. A schedule of the day will be posted later in the week. We are performing in pre-lims at 1:45 pm and are competing with 4 other bands in class AAAA.


Dr. Phillips Game - THURSDAY
Please see below for the schedule this week leading to the Dr. Phillips game on Thursday.  We will need to focus on learning the final sets to the show and add music and choreography to it.  Given we will not have a Thursday to review, we need to retain the work we learn today.

Week of October 1st - Practice, Football & Festival
This Friday we have our football game at Oakridge and our marching band competition on Saturday at Dr. Phillips HS. We also have rehearsal time change; It is a busy week.

(subject to change):
Monday- 2:30 PM-4:00 PM (hopefully earlier) Leadership field painting get the team together. We need to touch up the practice field and we have to line the rear field from scratch.

Tuesday- 3-6:30 PM -- time change due to open house on Tuesday night
3-4:30- Sectionals- guard practice field learning closer drill/choreography, horns Stadium lot in sub sections; drums rear field learning closer drill (it will be lined on Monday so we have at least 30-40 yards to work some drill on)
4:30-5:50- Sectionals- guard in practice field area for drill/choreography depending on Michael's schedule, horns on stadium field learning closer drill; battery on rear field learning closer drill, music sub sectionals
5:50- All move to stadium to setup
6:00- Run-through stadium field (closer as a group as much as we know)- then full run
6:30- dismiss from stadium and head to pack up

Wednesday- Leadership meeting is cancelled due to SACS committee meetings for teachers.
